It is now Spring.
It is as if life has just fired the starting pistol.
Everything is bursting forward. New growth is seen all around us.
Grass, trees, plants, insects, flowers, birds, animals, humans…
Even the clock has been altered to make room for more life.
And yet, there may be parts of us that don’t want to move forward.
There may be parts of us that want to go back and change things.
Make things different.
Make feelings and events oh so different…
But we cannot.
None of us can ever move backwards.
Each of us is a part of nature.
All we can do is march forward, into the new ‘now’, that is alive in each moment.
Yes, we can be careful not to make the mistakes of the past, but not too careful.
For who knows what beauty, life and love lies before us in the coming hours, days, weeks, months and years that we call our future?
You may be eager to create a new ‘now’ – and move quickly away from the events and feelings of the past.
Or it may be that you feel your past has injured you, harmed you, even disabled you, making a bright future seem a long way away.
Whatever your personal circumstances, remember this.
Your past does not equal your future.
It never did.
It never can – and it never will.
Nature dictates that life goes on, winter must let go into spring.
For those of us that have been injured or hurt in the past,
for those of us that have lost,
for those of us that feel we just cannot go on –
life and it’s many demonstrations of love – are waiting for you.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Sometimes it just feels like there is.
Therapy….?
Counselling…?
What are they….?
They are about helping you see what an amazing and essential part of life you are.
They are about helping you accept the unique man or woman that you are.
They are about enabling you to see your past and how it may have happened.
Therapy and counselling enable you to not only to accept and embrace life and all it’s challenges –
but they enable you, to once again look up to the sun, feel the firm soil of life beneath your feet –
and push on into light – and into love.
