Couple Counselling
Couple Counselling can be a transformative and enriching experience.
Perhaps you feel you’re drifting apart, or have fallen out of love. Life may be full of arguments and disagreement. You might have conflicts over sex, fidelity, trust, finances or children / stepchildren.
Having couple therapy can stop the damage, prevent conflict and promote relationship healing.
Couple therapy helps you both feel heard, provides techniques for resolving conflict and will bring loving and romance back into your relationship.
I work with couples in a completely bespoke way to suit your specific situation and personalities.
After gaining an understanding of the challenges you are both facing, together we would map out the changes you’d like to achieve.
Many couples benefit from learning new communication skills. Both partners learn how to express themselves clearly, so they are heard by the other without triggering conflict.
As a consequence, old hurts and disappointments become less powerful. It becomes possible for each to achieve deeper emotional growth.
I recommend having sessions on a regular basis while I support you through this process (usually weekly).
If a couple have decided to separate, couple counselling helps with that difficult and painful process. It will help you both to mourn the loss of the partnership. You will gain an understanding of how this came about. You will supported to make the separation as constructive as possible, which is especially relevant when children are involved.
I also work with separated / separating couples to establish a new dynamics to allow them to co-parent effectively.
All sessions are confidential and non-judgmental.
